Asked by Female, 22, Single
I have been in a relationship since few months. He now wants to break up with me and has stopped talking to me but I don't want to break up. I have lost interest in work and I think about him all the time.

Hi Writer, thank you for writing in. It takes great courage to reach out for help.

It seems that you are facing difficulty in getting over the guy you love. You have been talking with him since few months and now he does not seem interested in continuing this. This seems to have hit you hard and at this point you are finding it difficult to find interest in any work. I can understand that right now you are finding it difficult to push away his memories and his thoughts have occupied your mind. I understand that it must be a difficult position for you to be in.

Firstly, I would appreciate the courage in you for being able to manage so far. I can imagine tht this certainly has not been easy for you.
Could you tell me a little bit about yourself as an individual? What do you do?
Have you been in a relationship or been involved with anyone before this?
Since when did you know this guy and how? What made you fall in love with him?
Is there something that happened that made him not want to continue this any further? Did you talk with him about this? Since when has he stopped talking to you?
I can understand that it is painful for you to accept this end. What about this are you finding it difficult to digest?
And lastly, what has helped you to cope so far? How have you been managing?
Any friends or close ones you have or can share this with?
Answering these questions will help me understand your situation better and enable me to guide you accordingly.

Secondly, how would you like me to help you with your situation? What is it that you are hoping to seek through this counselling process?

Please respond back to continue our discussion. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Warm regards.
