My husband still loves and in grief for not marrying his divorce ex-girlfriend. I feel helpless, suicidal!

Asked by Female, 42, Married
I am married for 16 years and my husband has now suddenly changed his attitude towards me and since last month I have realized the truth. It seems he has met his ex-girlfriend who left him twenty years back and married someone else is now divorced and is trying to get back into his life. I am very very upset and saddened by the whole turn out of events. Now every day, every moment he keeps feeling sorry for not marrying her and says her life is spoil because of him and that he can never lead a normal life anymore as she is suffering now. I really don't know what to do and how to deal with this. I am shattered and I have been getting suicidal thoughts since few days. I don't know how to cope with this life. Should I put an end to everything and die or should I face it? but how to face it? I feel weak and helpless now.
