Should I complete my course even though it doesn't interest me?

Asked by Female, 18, Single
Im a girl of 18. I hate my college. I dont want to go back to college ever since i suffered abuse from a family member who is in the same field as mine. I have been wanting to run away but i couldnt do it to my father who has been supporting me through everything. I want to live an independent life. Even if it means that i have to struggle. I passed my 12th class. I dont want to continue my graduation in this field. I want to get a job or change my field of graduation. Im so confused. But one thing im clear of is that even if there is no problem with my college im hating it with a passion. But my parents are adamant about me completing the course i chose. Please give me an advice about what i should do. Should i complete the course which i hate ? Or pursue another career?

From what you have told me, you seem to want to quit your course because your family member is in the same field. It is completely understandable to feel like running away from the whole situation.
But I would like to ask you if you feel like doing that would help you deal with your feelings with regards to the abuse.
I would suggest to seek proper psychological help to help you to deal with the same.
Meanwhile, it's also important to figure out where your interest and skill lies and choose a career option to help you fulfill the same.
